I title this post by year also because we mean for this vacay to become tradition. We’re on year 2, so, so far, so good. We stay with friends we’ve known since middle school who have the most lovely home on the lake. Favorite moment from last year’s trip – riding in the boat through a rain storm. Racing back to the house!

First day this year began with a girls’ shopping day while the men golfed. Pam located an antique store in Marshallville, GA that’s only open one Saturday a month. One Saturday a month? Must be special, right? And, oh, it was. Turners Antiques and Collectibles damaged my bank account; I bought some great pressed hydrangea framed art. I’ll post pics as soon as I hang. Delightful store and so good to see this rural south GA downtown area getting a little love.
Next, we headed to Carroll St. in Perry, GA. First stop was Kollier & Co. I found the cutest red dress for GA game weekends! After so much hard shopping work, we needed a snack. Hazard’s outdoor patio sufficed wonderfully, and the staff suggested we head down the street for a wine tasting, not saying no to that! Strolling down the street in search of wine, we stumbled across this gem:

I had to be pulled out of the bookstore, actually lured with the promise of rose. Clover Wine Merchant was the perfect end to a girls’ day. Michael sure knows wine! Stop in and see him; stay a while.

Last but not least, and definitely a must when living lake life, a sunset cruise.

All day Saturday spent floating on Beach Bronco Saddle Seats and solving the world’s problems :).

Until next year …
